Re: Southgate
With respect he is an FA man perfect for them and not necessarily the team and fans.

But I for one wish him the very best of luck.

Re: Southgate
EXACTLY son. He's a good man who you can't see getting caught in any scandals, he speaks well, he genuinely cares, and I reckon he won't try to roll out every excuse in the book when we lose.

That, sadly, is the height of any expectations England fans should have.

In one ED... you can't polish a turd... we ain't that good at football but hopefully we won't have any Iceland repeats... I prefer us going out dignified against the 1st major football power like we used to under Sven etc...

Re: Southgate
I actually like the man. Considering the fact we'll be shit when it matters regardless of who is in charge, the fact it is an Englishman who I like means I'm ok with this.

And that's ALL that matters.

Re: Southgate
A? You want to disband the national team but bring back Sven? Strange man.

ElmParkPikey 1:41 Thu Dec 1
Re: Southgate
Fucking appalling. Please disband the national team. Southgate is a cunt who cashed in on his penalty miss with some wanky pizza advert. Bring back Sven with his old slut Ulrika Jonnson to suck off the players at half time

Think he will do OK IMO Any better British or English alternative ?

Re: Southgate
He will go down in my estimation if he doesn't strip Rooney of the captaincy and faze him out of the England setup.

Re: Southgate
This is a Woy all over again, we qualify easily from a shit group, but when it comes to playing any half decent team that’s not in a friendly we will get found out………we may go to Russia but I cant see us getting out of the group stages, even this far out.

Piss poor appointment, and based on performances against some proper shit, and the friendly against Spain doesn’t count, these games have no significance, just like pre season friendlies in the PL they are meaningless apart from giving the squad a run out.

Do you mean it's official that he's a absolute cunt? About time

Re: Southgate
Shocking appointment.

He has done nothing to warrant getting this job!

Re: Southgate
Good luck to him. Seems like a decent bloke and seems like the players respect him.

Let's hope he can get them playing at something like their potential.

Re: Southgate
I thought BFS was a good choice until the fat twat allowed his greed and ego to take over.

Given that we've tried expensive foreign managers and they've provided nothing, why not appoint an Englishman who's played for his country, and also managed the U21s?

I like a bit of continuity and moving up through the ranks. After the failures of the last XXX years, can he do any worse?

Re: Southgate
We've missed out on Klinsmann of course! You know, they guy not quite as successful as Bob Bradley. Missed a trick again!

Re: Southgate
He'll have a meltdown if he ever goes to a major finals. He looks like he's about to sob in interviews after friendlies as it is.

geoffpikey 7:33 Wed Nov 30
Re: Southgate
If that's aimed at my comments, Simon, then.. Let's say we go with at least a UK or UK-based appointment again.

Let's pick a WINNER as a player.

Would you be happy with Ryan Giggs? He's available. Won just about everything possible at club level.

Or a winner as a Manager?

Alex Ferguson or Walter Smith? 1 and 5 in all-time most trophies as club managers. How about one of them?

Arsene Wenger's nowhere on that list, but would you prefer him? He's won a few trophies.

Or Slaven Bilic. He's a lawyer! He likes METAL!! He kneels on tables and he's not bland!

Who would you expect we appoint?

Raymond Reddington 7:21 Wed Nov 30
Re: Southgate
Any decent manager wouldn't want the job, sad state of affairs when this loser is the best choice

simon.s 7:20 Wed Nov 30
Re: Southgate
So basically he's a loser?

Yep, just what we want.
